Argentina international Marcus Rojo will remain at Manchester United for the season having impressed under Jose Mourinho in recent games.
The 26-year-old, who is mainly a left-back by trade, has adapted well alongside Phil Jones at the heart of the defence.
Rojo was no more than a fringe player in the early stages of the campaign before injuries to Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly earned him the right to become a regular in the starting line-up.
According to Goal.com, Mourinho has decided against offloading Rojo in the winter transfer window due to his impressive showing in the backline this season.
The Argentine was linked with a potential move to Italy earlier last month, but he now sees himself in a position where he could be preferred ahead of Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling in central defence.
