Watford reject multiple bids for Ighalo

21 January 2017 - 19:19

Watford have reportedly snubbed a couple of bids from West Bromwich Albion for Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo. The 27-year-old is regarded as a top target for Tony Pulis in the January transfer window.

  • Baggies boss Pulis has the backing to spend reasonably this month following the takeover from Chinese billionaire Guochuan Lai in September 2016.

According to The Mirror, the Baggies have been rebuffed in their attempts to sign the 27-year-old with the latest being a £17m offer.

Manchester United had previously failed with a £35m bid for the marksman 12 months ago, and it is said that Watford would prefer a fee in and around that range despite the player's poor form.

Ighalo has had a tough time with Watford over the past year and has netted just twice in the last 32 league outings.
