Young defender Joe Gomez has inked a new long-term deal to keep him at Liverpool until the summer of 2022.
Recent speculation suggested that the teenager could be on the verge of a contract extension, and it is now confirmed that he has earned himself a fresh five-year deal on supposedly improved terms.
"It was a very easy decision. It is a great club and when it was mentioned about me extending my time here, it's not something I had to think very long about. I'm very happy it's done now and I'll just look to push on," he told the club's official website.
Gomez had been out with a nasty knee injury which restricted him from playing football for more than a year.
Nevertheless, Klopp is said to have identified Gomez's potential after he impressed during the opening stages of his debut campaign last term.
The England under-21 international is expected to start for Liverpool when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup fourth round this afternoon.
