Sunderland to sign Leonardo Ulloa?

Premier League strugglers Sunderland have been linked with a move for Leicester City outcast Leonardo Ulloa. The Black Cats are expected to come up with a substantial increase on their initial £3m offer which was snubbed by the Foxes.

  • Black Cats boss David Moyes is said to be desperate to reinforce his striking options this month with Victor Anichebe ruled out for the best part of ten weeks with a knee problem.

The Sun claims that the Black Cats will look to test the Foxes' resolve with a £11m bid for Ulloa after their initial attempt was swiftly rebuffed.

Ulloa has been no more than a squad player at the King Power Stadium, but the Foxes are reluctant to sell him unless a club comes close to their £12 valuation.

Sunderland are likely to have some cash freed up from the sale of Patrick van Aanholt to Crystal Palace, and this would allow them to make the move for the Uruguayan footballer.
