Man City to break transfer record for Dele Alli?

13 February 2017 - 06:07

Manchester City are prepared to cough up a world-record sum in order to sign Tottenham Hotspur's Dele Alli in the summer.

  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game

  • The England international has been recently linked with moves to Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain following his impressive showing for Tottenham Hotspur over the past 18 months.

Alli, 20, joined Spurs from MK Dons for &pound5m in January 2015 before he was loaned out to the League One side for the rest of the campaign.

He was more of an unknown to the top flight last season before he made his mark with 10 goals and 12 assists which earned the PFA Young Player of the Year award last season.

Alli has already amassed 13 goals and a couple of assists this term, and this has associated him with a whole host of clubs including a move to Shanghai Shenhua, who are willing to offer astronomical wages for his transfer.

According to The Express, Spurs are keen to keep hold of their asset beyond the summer but they could be tempted to accept his sale, should the Citizens table a fee in excess of &pound89m.

Paul Pogba is currently the world's most expensive player having rejoined Manchester United from Juventus for &pound89m last summer.
