Arsenal To Decide On Wengers Future

Wenger's time at the Emirates may be coming to an end

Arsenal To Decide On Wenger's Future

16 February 2017 - 11:09

Speculation has been building over the future of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for some time now, with the humiliating 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich last night being the final straw for some fans.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Arsenal board have revealed that no decision will be made before the end of the season and that a new contract offer is still available to Wenger. The Frenchman has been in charge at the North London club since 1996, a period in which he has won three Premier League titles, six FA Cup trophies and six Community Shields. Wenger has also seen his team reach the knockout stages of the Champions League in fourteen consecutive seasons, and managed "The Invincibles" of 03/04.

Despite this success, Arsenal have not won the league since then, and had a nine year trophyless spell before winning the FA Cup in 2014. This season has seen Arsenal drop off the pace yet again in the league, and a 5-1 demolition last night at the hands of Bayern Munich makes a Champions League exit look imminent.

It is a tough situation for Arsenal and the supporters, as they decide whether to hold on to a manager who has brought them great success in the past, in the hope that he can do so once again, or whether it is time for a fresh start.
