Premier League Player Heading To SPL?

Could Celtic be the next step for this prospect?

Premier League Player Heading To SPL?

19 February 2017 - 10:04

A wantaway Chelsea striker looks set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, but his next destination is unknown, with a number of clubs interested, including Old Firm giants Celtic and Rangers.

  • Arsenal preparing third bid for Spanish star
  • Chelsea ready to sell Christopher Nkunku to Man Utd for £35m?

  • 19 year old attacker Dominic Solanke sees his contract with the Premier League leaders expire in the summer, but with a lack of first team opportunities, and a wage demand of £50,000 a week, the two parties seem unlikely to negotiate a new deal.

Solanke has impressed with performances in the youth and reserve teams, but with first team chances limited to the occasional cup appearance, the youngster has decided that it is time to look elsewhere to further his career.

Scotland could well be the next step for Solanke, with Celtic keen to increase their dominance over the rest of the SPL and Rangers looking to strengthen their squad in a desperate bid to close the gap. There is also said to be interest from English teams, including Liverpool and Arsenal, and German powerhouse Bayern Munich are monitoring the situation too.

Whilst the move to an English club may seem like the most obvious, a loophole would see that the Scottish clubs would only have to pay £300,000 in compensation for Solanke, whereas teams in the same nation as Chelsea could have to pay up to £8million via a tribunal for the youngster.
