Arsenal plan Alexis-Morata swap

Arsenal plan to offer Alexis Sanchez in a straight swap deal

23 February 2017 - 06:14

Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly open to the sale of forward Alexis Sanchez at the end of the current campaign.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso

  • The Chile international has been reluctant to extend his contractual terms beyond 2018, and he will probably leave the club during the summer.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, the Gunners have set their sights on Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata in a potential deal which could see Alexis move the opposite direction.

Alexis has been frustrated with the lack of success at the Emirates in recent years, and a move to the Bernabeu could help him achieve his ambition.

Meanwhile, Morata, on the other hand, is yearning for regular playing time at a top European club, and he could be tempted to swap the Spanish capital for a move to London.

League leaders Chelsea have been touted to sign Morata for a while, but such an offer could put the Gunners in the driving seat for the Spain international.

Alexis has been in sublime touch for the Gunners this campaign with 20 goals and 13 assists across all competitions.
