Carlos Bacca snubs China offer

24 February 2017 - 06:00

AC Milan star Carlos Bacca has revealed that he has knocked back a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League. The Colombia international was holding out for a move to one of Arsenal or Atletico Madrid last summer before he stayed put at San Siro.

  • Bacca, 30, had been tipped to join the big spenders in the Far East after Tianjin Quanjian were prepared to cough up a record sum before next week's CSL transfer deadline.

However, the former Sevilla man has now confirmed that he has turned down an approach from the Chinese giants because he is 'very comfortable' at the Rossoneri.

"I'm happy to be here and I feel like I'm part of the project," he told Milan TV. "How could I say no to so much money? Easily, I used my head.

"My family and I are very comfortable here. On the first day that (Milan vice-president Adriano) Galliani called me, I never thought twice about accepting. And today, I'm still happy."

Bacca joined the Milan giants from Europa League holders Sevilla in 2015 and has since netted 29 goals across all competitions for the club.
