Ashley Young could still leave Manchester United for Shandong Luneng before the end of the month.
The 31-year-old has struggled for regular playing time this campaign, though he has started the last two outings under Jose Mourinho.
It has been previously suggested that Young will remain in Manchester for the season, but according to Sky Sports News, Shandong could seal £10m deal for his services before Tuesday's transfer deadline.
The Chinese transfer window is due to close on February 28, and this is likely to put pressure on European clubs as they seek to keep hold of their first-team players.
United skipper Wayne Rooney has been also linked with a proposed switch to the Far East, but he has released a statement showing his commitments towards his beloved club.
Young currently has just 16 months left on his United contract, and a move to China would present him with a three-year deal on his current £110,000 weekly package.
