Premier League club interested in Rooney - not Everton

Rooney's Manchester United career may be coming to an end

Premier League club interested in Rooney - not Everton

21 March 2017 - 16:09

Wayne Rooney's future at Manchester United has been in doubt for some time now. Struggling to be a part of Jose Mourinho's starting lineup and extortionate offers from the Chinese Super League made it look likely that he would depart Old Trafford in the last transfer window. Since then, former club Everton have shown interest in signing the England man in the summer, and now another Premier League club are showing interest in him.

  • Sources close to Sky Sports have today suggested that West Ham United are refusing to rule out a move for England's all time top scorer. They have struggled to find a consistent scorer this season, and Wayne Rooney is proven to be prolific in the Premier League. Andy Carroll is also rumoured to be leaving at the end of the season, which would make the Hammers even more desperate for an attacker.

West Ham bosses have said that if Jose Mourinho gives any hint that Rooney is set to leave Manchester United that they will be in the hunt to sign him and when later asked if he was a transfer target for the club, they replied "never say never."

Everton and West Ham United may not be able to match the high wage offers from China, but if Wayne Rooney feels that he still has something to offer in the Premier League, the opportunities will be there for him.
