Sporting resigned to losing William Carvalho

29 March 2017 - 18:23

Sporting are likely to cash in on midfielder William Carvalho amid interest from the Premier League. Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton and Arsenal are all said to be vying for the player's services this summer.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Carvalho, 24, has been long linked with an England move with the Gunners having previously failed with an approach back in the summer of 2014.

The Portugal international left an impression during the European championships in France last summer where his showing in midfield proved key to his country's first major triumph.

According to A Bola, the Primeira Liga giants are resigned to losing their key midfielder following the increased interest from the Premier League in recent months.

Carvalho had previously cited his ambition to lift the league title in Portugal, but it now appears he is willing to move on in order to realise his dream at a bigger club.

The anchorman currently has a contract at Sporting until the summer of 2020, and it is understood that a sum of around £30m could be sufficient to do business this summer.
