Everton are reportedly monitoring the performances of Hull City defender Harry Maguire ahead of a potential move for his services in the summer.
Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is eager to strengthen his backline during the coming transfer window with skipper Phil Jagielka having fallen down the pecking order while Ramiro Funes Mori is still uncertain over his long-term future.
According to The Liverpool Echo, the Merseyside giants have earmarked Maguire as a probable target for the summer after having been impressed by his showing against the Premier League elite this season.
Maguire had occupied the right-back position initially at Hull, but he has since formed an impressive bond alongside Andrea Ranochhia in central defence which has sustained the Tigers' plans of beating the drop.
Apart from Maguire, Burnley's Michael Keane is also on the Toffees' shortlist with Koeman looking to push his side further for a top-four finish next season.
Everton face off against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Saturday, and a win could push them above both Manchester United and Arsenal to fifth place - those the pair will have three games more to play.
