French head coach Arsene Wenger will be offered a direct return to management with Paris Saint-Germain, should he fail to agree on a fresh contract at Arsenal.
The 67-year-old has been playing mind games with his Gunners future, but many feel that he will extend terms on a fresh one-year deal with the option of an extra year if needed.
According to The Star, the Ligue 1 holders are keeping a close watch on the proceedings and will act if the Frenchman decides to end his 21-year association with the Gunners.
Wenger has received a lot of stick from the club's faithful in recent weeks with a major section of the fans wanting the manager out before the end of the season.
The Gunners are currently on a run of four defeats in their last five games - their worst under the Wenger era, and this has seen them move further from the Champions League places.
Arsenal are six points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool with two games to play, and the clash against Manchester City becomes all so important in order if they to finish in the top-four places - something which they have done in each season under Wenger.
