  • The Seagulls are prepared to spend reasonably in the transfer market this summer as they seek to improve their chances of surviving prior to their maiden Premier League season.

According to TalkSPORT, the Championship leaders are lining up a move for the Costa Rican attacker, who is understood to have no future at the Emirates.

Campbell is currently on a season-long loan with Sporting where he has not had much success, and he is due to be sold on his return to his parent club.

The 24-year-old has about 14 months' left on his existing deal and the Gunners are likely to accept a bargain price for his services with Sporting having declined the option to buy the winger for £8m this summer.

Prior to his stint at Sporting, Campbell has spent loan spells with the likes of Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiacos and Villareal.
