Jose Mourinho identifies potential David de Gea replacements

04 May 2017 - 05:29

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified potential targets to replace goalkeeper David de Gea, who could be heading to Real Madrid in the summer.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The Spain international has emerged as the prime option for the European champions, who are eager to add a world-class shot-stopper to their ranks ahead of the 2017/18 season.

According to The Sun, the Special One has already underlined suitable options to replace De Gea next term with AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma  and Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak leading the shortlist.

Donnarumma, still 18, has owned the number one role at the Rossoneri over the past 18 months, and Mourinho could seek to lure him with the influence of super-agent Mino Raiola.

Meanwhile, Oblak has given an open invitation to the Mancunian giants after he admitted that it would be hard to turn down a move to one of the most-renowned clubs in the world.

De Gea currently has two years left on his present deal at Old Trafford, and Real Madrid will have to cough a £60m fee in order to prise him away from Manchester United in the summer.
