Bayern Munich prepare £55m bid for Alexis Sanchez

09 May 2017 - 13:23

Bayern Munich have inserted themselves into the Alexis Sanchez transfer saga and are willing to break their transfer record for him

  • Arne Slot confirms big Liverpool injury blow
  • Bournemouth close to signing Chelsea defender?

  • The 28 year old Chilean has stalled on a new deal at Arsenal and many teams have been linked with a move, from Paris Saint Germain, Manchester City, Chelsea and Juventus, with Chelsea seemingly being Sanchez's first choice.

However, new reports from the Telegraph revealed that the German club are believed to be prepared to offer €65 million (£55 million) for his services.

Arsenal face a battle to keep Alexis with Champions League football out of sight at this point in time. Sanchez has also been showcasing his anger on the pitch, constantly frustrated with his teammates' lack of work ethic and quality on the pitch.

With Xabi Alonso retiring at the end of the season, Douglas Costa and Thomas Muller's futures in doubt, Alexis Sanchez could be the player Bayern Munich needs to take them to the next level.

They have been disappointing in the Champions League in recent seasons, most notably crashing out 5-0 on aggregate to Real Madrid in 2014 and once again to Los Blancos this season.

With the consistency Sanchez brings, it would be a welcome sight to Bayern Munich who from time to time were unable to replicate their good form where it mattered.

Arsenal play Chelsea in the FA Cup final later this month which could turn out to be Alexis Sanchez's last game in the Gunners shirt.
