Donnarumma set for Manchester move at cut price

Donnarumma is expected to be a star for many seasons to come

Donnarumma set for Manchester move at cut price

14 May 2017 - 17:13

AC Milan teenage sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma has reportedly told sources close to him that he wants to move to the English Premier League, and will turn down a new contract offer from the Serie A giants. Manchester United and Manchester City will now be on high alert over a possible bargain for the young goalkeeper.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip

  • With just over a year remaining on his current contract, AC Milan are desperate to see him agree to a new long term deal. The Sun reports that Donnarumma has told friends that he will be leaving the San Siro for a move to the Premier League. To prevent the risk of losing him on a free next season, Milan may have to sell him at a cut price this summer, with a £20 million fee expected to be all it takes.

Manchester United and Manchester City have been linked with the eighteen year old Italian, with both possibly needing a new first choice goalkeeper ahead of the new season.

Manchester United's David de Gea has constantly been linked with a move to Real Madrid, whilst Manchester City's Claudio Bravo has struggled since his move to the club.

Manchester City are said to be willing to pay Donnarumma £70,000 per week, but as the battle for a top four Premier League spot continues, Champions League football may be the decisive factor as to where a goalkeeper, who many expect to be at the top of the game for years to come, will end up.
