Man Utd set to re-sign former graduate

Manchester United are reportedly in advanced negotiations to re-sign former player Michael Keane from Burnley in the summer.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The 24-year-old has been ever-present for the Clarets, who have managed to clinch Premier League safety with ease this term.

As a result, his performances have captured the attention of a number of English clubs with Manchester City, Chelsea and Everton among those previously credited with an interest.

According to The Mail, the Red Devils have made great strides towards the player's services after having agreed on a £25m in order to sign the England international

Keane left the Red Devils for Burnley on a £2.5m fee in January 2015, and it appears that the club will have to pay 10 times the sum, although the final fee could be reduced due to the 25 percent sell-on clause on the player's contract.

The central defender has earned plaudits for his commanding presence in the Burnley backline this season, and his performances have earned him a regular role with the Three Lions.

Keane's arrival is likely to have an effect on the future of Chris Smalling, who has received much of the criticism from Jose Mourinho this season.
