Bale urges Real Madrid to sign Welsh wonderkid

Gareth Bale is the biggest superstar that the Welsh national team has seen for many years. Guiding the team through their highly successful European Championship campaign, and now on the verge of a La Liga and Champions League double with Real Madrid, he has urged the Spanish giants to sign the next big Welsh star.

  • Chelsea prepared to sell £40m striker with Newcastle keen
  • Liam Rosenior confirms Chelsea star is out for six weeks

  • Seventeen-year-old Ben Woodburn introduced himself to the footballing world with a goal on his Liverpool debut. Despite being so young, he has already been called up to the Wales national team, much to the disappointment of the England team, who tried to persuade him to represent them.

The excitement about this young player's potential is not just in Britain. Barcelona have been linked with the attacker, which Bale says Real Madrid must not allow to happen.

Don Balon reports that Bale has told Real Madrid chiefs to seriously considering signing Woodburn, who he believes has the ability to become one of the best players in Europe.

Liverpool will be very disappointed that one of their brightest young players is being linked with a move away, but they will hope that he is happy to stay and potentially become the newest Anfield superstar.
