Peter Crouch is first to reach Premier League milestone

With so many goals being scored on the last day of the Premier League season and Champions League places to play for, the clash between Southampton and Stoke City went relatively unnoticed. However, striker Peter Crouch scored to become the first player to reach an impressive milestone.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Thirty-six-year-old Peter Crouch has represented six teams in his Premier League career, in addition to winning forty two England caps. By heading home against Southampton on Sunday, he became the first player to score fifty headed goals in the Premier League.

At 6ft 7in, Crouch is clearly an aerial threat, but he also provides so much more for his team. Earlier this season, Crouch scored against Everton to register his one hundredth Premier League goal.

By heading his fiftieth Premier League header, Crouch sits at the top of a list that includes some of the greatest goalscorers in Premier League history. Alan Shearer is second in that list with forty six, with the likes of Dwight Yorke, Teddy Sheringham, Robbie Fowler and Andy Cole also included.
