French champions AC Monaco have reportedly beaten Everton in the race to sign Anderlecht hotshot Youri Tielemans. The Belgium international has inked a five-year deal with the Principality outfit.
Tielemans, 20, has attracted a whole lot of European interest in recent seasons with Everton being the latest to add him to their transfer shortlist.
Monaco have groomed a number of young players into potential world-beaters, and this appears to have influenced Tielemans' decision following advice from compatriot Yannick Ferreira Carassco.
Leonardo Jardim's side have paid up a fee of around £20m to sign the midfielder, who has already earned three caps with the Belgian national team.
"I am thrilled to be a part of this team next year," he told the club's official website. "Monaco are a club with an ambitious project and have a reputation for developing youngsters."
Tielemans showed vast improvement in his abilities during the 2016/17 season as he contributed 18 goals and 15 assists en route to the club's league success.
