Despite not being able to save Hull City from relegation, Marco Silva has received great praise for the work that he did with The Tigers. He left the club this week, making a number of teams jump at the opportunity of hiring him.

  • Silva was in Portugal this week to discuss the possibility of taking over as manager of Porto. Since returning to England, he has resigned from Hull, and reports now suggest that he is in advanced talks with Watford about their vacant managerial post.

The Watford manager's job has been a dangerous position to occupy in recent years, but The Mirror reports that chairman Gino Pozzo wants to secure a long term manager, with Silva the top of his shortlist.

Despite the reports suggesting that talks are at an advanced stage, Crystal Palace have not given up hope of hiring the Portuguese boss, after the shock resignation of Sam Allardyce earlier this week.

Silva took over at Hull when they were already at the bottom of the Premier League table. Whichever club he ends up at, he will be hoping that with a full pre-season to build his own squad, that he can secure safety and then push on up the table.
