Benjamin Mendy to Man City?

Man City boss keen on another Monaco star

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly planning a second raid on AS Monaco as he looks to lure promising left-back Benjamin Mendy to the Etihad Stadium.

  • Confirmed Man Utd line-up vs Liverpool, Matheus Cunha starts
  • Chelsea quoted price to sign Igor Thiago
  • The Citizens appear to have begun their transfer negotiations early, having recently wrapped up the services of Bernardo Silva from Monaco on a &pound43m deal.

According to The Mirror, Mendy could be the next to swap between the clubs with Pep keen to find solutions to his squad prior to the transfer window.

Mendy has enjoyed a successful season with the Principality outfit following his switch from Marseille last summer, and this earned him his maiden cap for France earlier in the year.

Both Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov look set to leave at the expiry of their contracts this summer, and this leaves a huge void to fill in the left-back spot ahead of next season.

Mendy has previously attracted interest from arch-rivals Manchester United but City are favourites to sign the Frenchman following their successful raid on Silva earlier yesterday.
