France international Antoine Griezmann has reportedly decided to part ways with Atletico Madrid this summer amid the continuous speculation over his future.
The 26-year-old bagged 26 goals for the Spanish giants this term as they finished third in the league standings while ending up trophyless for another season.
Over the weekend, club president Enrique Cerezo claimed that the player would stay put at Atleti next season as they plan to adapt to the surroundings at the Wanda Metropolitano.
However, Cadena Cope claims that the exact opposite of the story with Griezmann having demanded a potential exit from the La Liga club this summer.
"Antoine Griezmann has informed the hierarchy of the club [Atletico] that he wishes to leave," Cope reporter Antonio Ruiz said.
Griezmann currently has a £87m release clause in his contract, and Atleti would be helpless if any club intends to match his valuation.
Manchester United have been hot on the pursuit of Griezmann over the past few months, but it is yet to be clear whether they would spend a major chunk of their budget on a single player.
