Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez feels Diego Costa would receive a warm welcome, should he make his return to the Spanish club.
Costa, 28, enjoyed a splendid campaign with Chelsea this term with his 20 goals contributing towards a well-earned Premier League title.
However, this has not diminished speculation over the striker's future with the Spaniard himself citing that Atleti would be the 'only club' he would leave Chelsea for.
It had been previously suggested that the Atleti faithful would have an ill-feeling towards the Brazilian-born star, but Niguez insists that Costa would be well received on his return to Madrid.
"If he can be signed, if he comes, Diego Costa would be well received. He knows the place, we know him, and he would not take long to fit into the play of Atletico Madrid," he told AS.
Costa amassed 64 goals in 135 outings for Atleti during his second stint between 2010 and 2014 which included their first La Liga triumph since 1996.
He has managed to better this feat with two Premier League titles in the last three years with Chelsea, but a return to his ex-club remains on his mind.
