Bafétimbi Gomis looks set to play in the Turkish League next season

Bafétimbi Gomis set to complete move to Galatasaray

01 June 2017 - 05:35

The Swansea City striker will likely complete a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray after the Welsh club failed to convince the player to stay.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The 31-year-old found life in the Premier League difficult and only managed to score 13 goals in 64 games for the Swans. However, the player seems to have gotten back his scoring touch after his loan move to Marseille in Ligue 1, scoring 20 goals in 32 games and finished fourth in the golden boot race.

On the back of an impressive season, many clubs in Europe have inquired about the services of Gomis. Although Swansea manager Paul Clement expressed his desire to keep the Frenchman, Gomis does not want to remain at the club.

While the striker was widely expected to join Marseille permanently, Gomis is now expected to complete a move to Turkish side Galatasaray and a deal has already been agreed between the two parties.

According to Turkish news site Fanatik, Gomis agreed to join Galatasaray after speaking with the sporting director, Cenk Ergun. He was initially offered a two-year contract with the option of a year extension, however, he has now been offered a three-year contract directly.

Swansea will expect an official bid from Galatasaray in the coming days.
