Aubameyang to Arsenal?

Arsenal have a chance of signing BvB striker

05 June 2017 - 06:00

Arsenal could be eyeing an ambitious swoop for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang amid doubts over his future at Borussia Dortmund.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • The Gabonese footballer is seemingly frustrated with his stay at BvB after having lifted just one trophy since his arrival back in 2013.

Aubameyang amassed 40 goals for the German giants during the recently concluded season with his last conversion being a match-winning penalty in the 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB Pokal final.

According to The Mail, the Gunners realise an opportunity of luring the highly-experienced striker with Arsene Wenger due to be backed with a £150m kitty to spend on fresh signings.

Aubameyang was recently on the cusp of a £61m move to French club Paris Saint-Germain but this was quickly dismissed by BvB chief Michal Zorc.

As a result, the striker is still assessing his options for the summer transfer window with the Gunners likely to make a £60m approach in order to lure him to north London.

The lack of Champions League football remains a huge void to fill, but Wenger will be using his reputation to the fullest to persuade world-class players to join the club.
