Arsenal make bid for James Rodriguez

Arsenal make bid for James Rodriguez

08 June 2017 - 08:00

James Rodriguez looks set to leave Real Madrid this summer and the Premier League has been the place that many are linking him with a move to. Manchester United and Chelsea were thought to be the teams leading the way for his signature, but Arsenal have now made a bid to try and sign the Colombian international.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • Rodriguez has grown frustrated at the Santiago Bernabeu this season at a lack of game time and feels that a move away would allow him to progress with his career.

Reports in Spain today suggest that Arsenal have launched a bid to sign the attacking midfielder, as Arsene Wenger looks to spend bid this summer in an attempt to prove that he is capable of winning the Premier League.

Although it is believed to be close, Real Madrid have rejected the bid, with it falling short of their £69.8 million valuation of him. Inter Milan have had a similar offer rejected, with the Spanish giants feeling that they can hold out because of such interest.

It would be no surprise to see Arsenal return with a higher bid to land Rodriguez, but with Inter Milan attempting to sign him and Manchester United and Chelsea still interested, they may have to surpass Real Madrid's valuation.
