AC Milan open talks with Diego Costa

Diego Costa's future appears to be away from Stamford Bridge

AC Milan open talks with Diego Costa

08 June 2017 - 22:23

After revealing that Chelsea have told him that he can leave and rumours linking him away from Stamford Bridge all season, Diego Costa has reportedly opened talks with AC Milan over a move to the Serie A club.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • There has been no secret about the fact that Antonio Conte is keen to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this summer and Diego Costa may leave the club in order to accommodate him.

Costa was Chelsea's first choice striker this season, scoring twenty goals on the way to the club regaining the Premier League trophy and reaching the final of the FA Cup.

It was believed that the Spain international was very keen on a move back to former club Atletico Marid, but that is no longer possible after FIFA imposed a transfer ban on the La Liga club.

AC Milan are on the look out for a centre forward who can lead their frontline, as they look to once again challenge for the Serie A trophy.

There is also interest from China for Diego Costa, but it is believed that he would much prefer to move to another club in Europe.

Sky Sports reports that Costa's agent has been in talks with Milan bosses and a deal could be negotiated in the near future. If this transfer was completed, Chelsea's hunt for a new striker would intensify.
