The England international's future at the Etihad looks all but over after Pep Guardiola decided to pursue Ederson from Benfica on a world-record fee for a goalkeeper.

According to Sky Sports, the Hammers are eager to pursue a permanent agreement with Manchester City for Hart, but his current &pound120,000 a week wages remain a huge stumbling block.

Slaven Bilic's side are willing to revive Hart's Premier League career, but for this, he will have to slash his demands by at least £75,000 a week.

Nevertheless, the east London club are interested in a temporary move for Hart in order to offer him sufficient game time ahead of next year's World Cup in Russia.

Hart had a mixed campaign on loan with Torino last term with club president Urbano Cairo admitting that he did not expect so many mistakes from a player, who is a regular in the Three Lions squad.
