Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho has informed the Independent that his long term future remains at Anfield, despite constant talk of a transfer to Barcelona this summer. The Brazilian international proved to be one of the stars of the Reds' campaign last season.

  • With Liverpool's Champions League appearance this upcoming season almost assured should the club succeed in the qualification rounds; Coutinho has now indicated that his long-term future will be with Jurgen Klopp's side.

    Barcelona are currently beginning life under a new coach and are setting out their transfer targets for this summer. Coutinho is believed to be one of the players on their wanted list.

    Coutinho is quoted as saying in the Independent: "Talking about this is complicated. I have a contract with my club and it is long, So my focus is on the present and the national team. My focus is here."

    Coutinho has three years left on his existing Anfield deal and the news that the player will continue his development at Liverpool is sure to delight both the club and fans alike.
