Arsenal stopper David Ospina to make move to Fenerbahce

14 June 2017 - 08:46

Premier League club Arsenal will sell goalkeeper David Ospina to Fenerbahce to help balance the books for the upcoming season. The Colombian number 1 will head to Turkey in July to discuss personal terms with the club.

  • Chelsea agree personal terms with Messinho
  • Arsenal goalkeeper expected to leave permanently

  • Ospina has found first team opportunities somewhat limited since his arrival from Nice to Arsenal and has told manager Arsene Wenger that he would like to leave in search of regular first team action. Turkish club Fenerbahce are long -term admirers of the Colombian goalkeeper and will pay a reported 5.75 million GBP to sign up the agile keeper.

Since his arrival at Arsenal, Petr Cech has been Arsene Wenger's preferred choice in between the sticks and that looks set to continue next year thus leading the way for an Ospina exit.

Fenerbahce are in pole position to secure his signature, but Turkish league rivals Galatasaray as well as Italian duo Genoa and Sampdoria are also interested in the keeper. Arsenal will replace Ospina with Emiliano Martinez as their number two option for 2018.
