Jakupovic heading to Leicester?

Hull City goalkeeper to join Leicester City

17 June 2017 - 05:09

Hull City goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic is reportedly set to follow Harry Maguire into inking a permanent deal with Leicester City.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Foxes secured the services of Maguire on a &pound17m deal yesterday after they managed to fend off interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.

BBC Sport now reveals that the club are closing in on their second signing from the Yorkshire outfit with Jakupovic set to play deputy to Kasper Schmeichel next season.

Ron-Robert Zieler largely strugged in his first season at the King Power Stadium, and his future uncertain as the transfer window reopens in a fortnight's time.

Schmeichel has also attracted interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, but the Foxes are confident of managing their goalkeeper after having placed a &pound50m price tag on his head.

Jakupovic, 32, appeared in 22 league outings for Hull City, who were relegated from the top-flight in the penultimate game of last season. He has a solitary international cap with Switzerland coming back in 2008.
