Man Utd to offer De Gea plus £175m for Ronaldo

Manchester United could be willing to part ways with star goalkeeper David de Gea in a proposed world-record deal which could bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • Ronaldo, 32, has won everything within reach at the Bernabeu, and he is now eyeing a Real Madrid exit following alleged tax fraud claims.

The Portugal international shares the same agent in Jorge Mendes with Jose Mourinho, and he has signalled his intention to make an Old Trafford comeback during the summer.

However, the deal will not come on the cheap with United prepared to offer De Gea as makeweight in an agreement which could cost in excess of £175m.

United coughed up a massive £89m to recruit Paul Pogba from Juventus last summer, and Mourinho is unlikely to think twice, should he get the opportunity to reunite with the Euro 2016 winner.

Ronaldo has lost some of his pace attributes over the years, but he has managed to position himself at the right place to earn his club valuable goals.

The arrival of Ronaldo would significantly improve United's chances of breaking their recent Premier League drought which was unheard of during the Portuguese's previous stint in Manchester.
