Xherdan Shaqiri has become a potential target for Serie A club Roma as they look very likely to need a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is edging ever closer to a move to Liverpool.
The Swiss attacking midfielder is a big favourite with the Stoke City supporters and they will be desperate to see him in the team as they embark on their quest for a better Premier League campaign this time around.
Whilst admitting that he wants to be challenging for trophies and playing Champions League football again, Shaqiri spoke recently of his belief that Stoke could 'do a Leicester' and win the Premier League, and he wants to be a part of that.
The deal taking former Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah from Roma to Liverpool is expected to be completed shortly, with many sources stating that an announcement will be made on Thursday.
Whilst a bid has not been made, Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri suggests that Roma see Shaqiri as capable of replacing Salah and have been in touch with Stoke to ask about the possibility of signing their key man.
