Manchester City are reportedly close to sealing the services of Monaco full-back Benjamin Mendy. The Frenchman would become the second arrival from the Principality outfit following the capture of Bernardo Silva last month.
Earlier this month, a report from Sky Sports suggested that the Citizens were on the cusp of an agreement for Mendy, but the deal was put off by Monaco's £40m valuation.
According to Le10Sport, the Citizens have since reentered negotiations with the Ligue 1 holders following the recent interest from league rivals Chelsea.
It is added that the Mancunian giants have agreed to pay up a fee of around £39.6m for the France international, who will compete with Aleksandar Kolarov for a place on the left side of the defence.
Mendy had attracted Premier League interest from Manchester United last summer, but he snubbed their advances for a move to Monaco from Marseille. The 22-year-old is now a regular for Les Bleus ahead of Barcelona defender Lucas Digne.
