Loic Remy set to leave Chelsea

Remy's time at Chelsea has been a failure

Loic Remy set to leave Chelsea

24 June 2017 - 17:36

Remy has endured a torrid team since moving to Chelsea and looks set for a move back to the Ligue 1 after just four years away.

  • Dutch star has travelled to London for Chelsea medical
  • Chelsea to focus on signing Dutch attacker after Hato

  • After having a couple of decent seasons in the Premier League, first scoring six goals in 14 games following his January transfer to QPR from Marseille, and second coming in a loan move to Newcastle, where Remy scored 14 goals in 27 games, he earned a big move to Chelsea.

However, since his move to Chelsea, his career has gone downhill. Remy made the move to Stamford Bridge the same time Diego Costa did, which significantly reduced the amount of playing time he got. In total, he only scored 12 goals in 47 appearances for the Blues.

In an attempt to revive his Premier League career and rediscover the form he had at QPR and Newcastle, Remy was sent on loan to Crystal Palace. Repeated knee injuries ruined his time at Selhurst Park and he failed to find the net as he only made eight appearances.

Despite having a year left on his contract, Antonio Conte has no plans for Remy at the club and is ready to sell him, according to French site Foot Mercato. The club will not mind selling him on the cheap and making a loss off the £10.5 million they bought him for.

Marseille are believed to be frontrunners for the Frenchman and a return is on the table as the player is believed to be open to taking a pay cut to get regular football again.
