Chelsea expect to sign Llorente before transfer window closes

29 August 2017 - 05:43

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is confident that a deal to sign Fernando Llorente from Swansea City will be completed before the transfer window slams shut. The Blues have had an offer for Llorente accepted.

  • Man Utd expected to offload 24-year-old attacker

  • Llorente, who played for Antonio Conte briefly while the Italian was in charge at Juventus, has been one of Swansea City's best players in recent times but the Welsh club's manager Paul Clement has told the striker that he will be allowed to leave.

According to multiple reports, Chelsea will pay Llorente £2 million and the striker will put pen to paper on a 3 year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Llorente scored 15 times for Swansea City last season and the prolific striker is wanted as a backup to current first-team striker Alvaro Morata.

Chelsea have informed last season's preferred first choice forward Diego Costa that he is free to leave West London, with a loan move to Everton being considered by the Spanish international. Costa favours a permanent transfer to his former club, Atletico Madrid.
