Sagna set for Premier League comeback?

Leicester City planning move for former Arsenal star

09 October 2017 - 14:17

Leicester City are reportedly weighing up a contract offer for former Arsenal and Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna. The France international has been a free-agent since his release from the Citizens at the end of last season.

  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Crystal Palace, Joao Pedro starts
  • Aston Villa pushing to sign Chelsea striker?

  • Sagna had been linked with the likes of Crystal Palace, Swansea City and West Ham United since leaving the Etihad, but a move did not materialise.

According to The Manchester Evening News, the former English champions have joined the pursuit of the experienced Frenchman, who will provide competition to Danny Simpson on the right side of the defence.

The 34-year-old did not have much trophy success during his 11-year stint with both Arsenal and Manchester City, and it has previously been suggested that he could take a significant pay-cut to move to a fresh league.

Sagna is also a transfer target for Italian outfit Torino, who had signed his former teammate Joe Hart on loan from Manchester City last term.
