Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Mathieu Debuchy will make his Gunners comeback when they take on Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on Thursday.
The France international has endured a series of calf problems during his time at the Emirates, and this has limited him to a role with the reserve squad.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Wenger revealed that Debuchy has made good progress since his previous injury setback, and he is assured of a start in Belgrade.
"He has not played for a long time because every time he is close to coming back he gets injured again. He will certainly start tomorrow." he is quoted as saying by ESPN FC.
Debuchy featured in just one Premier League game against Bournemouth last term, but his appearance was curtailed after just 15 minutes with a muscle problem.
Apart from Debuchy, the likes of Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere are set to earn valuable playing time while David Ospina is expected to replace Petr Cech between the sticks.
