Chelsea could reportedly pursue the services of Ciro Immobile in eight month's time in order to keep Antonio Conte satisfied at Stamford Bridge.

  • The Italy international was one of the prime targets for the Blues boss in the summer, but ultimately the club could recruit only one striker in Alvaro Morata.

According to The Sun, the 48-year-old could get the opportunity to sign Immobile next summer with Lazio prepared to reopen transfer negotiations.

Lazio reportedly turned down a £62m bid for Immobile in the summer, but the Blues are confident of negotiating a slightly lesser sum of £53m - come the end of the campaign.

The Premier League holders are also open to a part-exchange for the marksman with Conte having the luxury of many a fringe players in the club's ranks.

Immobile, who was previously in the Juventus youth system, has been in stunning form for Lazio this term with 13 goals in just 10 Serie A outings.
