Chelsea manager Antonio Conte spoke of his side's disappointing Champions League performance against AS Roma last night. The Blues were outplayed by the Giallorossi for most parts of the game which they lost by a 3-0 scoreline.
A first-half brace from Stephan El Shaaraway and a Diego Perotti effort handed the hosts a well-earned win, which was partially contributed by the Blues' dismal display at the back.
In the aftermath of the game, Conte insisted that the Blues were unlucky to go 2-0 down at the half-way stage, but their showing in the second half was very disappointing as Roma showed more desire to win.
"When you lose 3-0, it means it wasn't a good performance. Our first half was good, we created many chances to score, but to be 2-0 down was unfair," Conte told BT Sport.
"But in the second half, it was a really bad performance. Roma showed more will to fight and more desire to win the game. I'm very disappointed with our second half. For this performance, we all have to take responsibility."
Chelsea's Premier League title credentials have been frequently questioned since the 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace, and the latest defeat is likely to put more pressure on Antonio Conte.
The reigning champions welcome Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in Sunday's late kick-off, and anything less than a victory could generate doubts over the Italian's position at the club.
