Mesut Ozil is reportedly prepared to put pen to paper on a new Arsenal contract if he is handed the number 10 shirt currently worn by Jack Wilshere.
The 29-year-old has just eight months left on his existing Gunners deal, and he is stalling on a new contract as he eyes a significant increase in his £140,000-a-week wages.
According to The Mirror, the World Cup winner is open to committing his future to the north London side, should they agree to offer him Wilshere's number 10 shirt.
Ozil, who wears the number 11 jersey at Arsenal, recently suggested that he will give his best for the club despite the continuous speculation over his future.
Gunners forward Alexis Sanchez has also entered the final year of his contract, but the Chilean has made his mind up for a new challenge elsewhere.
Manchester City continue to lead the race for Sanchez's signature, and a winter deal looks a possibility with Arsenal facing the risk of losing him on a free next summer.
