Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is considering a potential approach to sign Simon Mignolet from Liverpool at the end of the season.
The Belgium international started the campaign as the first-choice between the sticks for Liverpool, but as the season has gone on, Loris Karius has taken over his position.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that he sees Karius as his first-choice shot-stopper for the timebeing, and it appears certain that Mignolet could push for an exit from the club.
One of the sides interested are Newcastle United, but the club are said to be mulling over a potential approach, given the goalkeeper's former links with Sunderland, The Star claims.
Czech Republic international Martin Dubravka has impressed during his temporary stint at the club, but Benitez is likely to make the final decision on who features between the sticks next term.
Newcastle United are currently four points ahead of the drop zone with eight more games left in the Premier League campaign. Out of those, three are against the top-six in the standings, and they could face a tricky test in preserving their top-flight status.
