Premier League centre-back to snub Arsenal for Manchester City move?

West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans is reportedly prepared to snub advances from Arsenal in order to join Manchester City during the summer.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Northern Irishman was pursued by both clubs during the winter transfer window, but they were put off the Baggies' £25m valuation.

With the Baggies destined for the drop, Evans is due to be available for a relegation release clause of just £3m, and this is certain to revive the interest.

According to The Mirror, the central defender would rather prefer joining the Citizens over the Gunners as he does not want to relocate from the North-West where he is still based.

Meanwhile, Evans is said to have turned down a fresh £100,000-a-week contract with the Baggies previously, which would have extended his stay beyond June 2019.

Evans has missed the previous three games with a knee injury, and he has been rated as '50-50' by caretaker Darren Moore for this weekend's game against ex-club Manchester United.
