Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly holding out for a compensation package of around £10m in order to end his association with the club in the summer.

  • The 48-year-old is widely expected to be replaced ahead of next season with Blues owner Roman Abramovich said to be disappointed with the club's progress in the Premier League.

According to The Mirror, Conte's proposed exit from Stamford Bridge has been delayed by the ongoing discussions over a hefty £10m pay-off for the remaining year of his contract.

Meanwhile, the Blues have already begun their pursuit of a new head coach and both parties are likely to have their issues sorted out by the end of the campaign.

Conte has helped Chelsea progress to the FA Cup final where they will face Manchester United next month but even a victory in the competition is unlikely to assure the Italian of his stay.

Chelsea are currently fifth in the Premier League standings with 63 points and their prospects of a top-four finish are still alive with just five points separating them from Tottenham, who are in a lean run of form.
