Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has confirmed that he is recovering 'faster than expected' from an ankle injury sustained last month. The Belgium international now has a strong possibility of featuring for United against Chelsea in the FA Cup final next weekend.
Lukaku suffered the problem following a challenge from Arsenal's Konstantinos Mavropanos in a 2-1 triumph and Jose Mourinho thereafter highlighted that he is hopeful of having the Belgian back in action for the Wembley showpiece.
The 24-year-old has since returned to Belgium in order to enhance his recovery progress and he has now hinted of his potential comeback, he told HLN: "My recovery is going faster than expected, as always."
Lukaku's potential move to Manchester United raised question marks due to his poor record against the top-six. However, over the course of the season, he has made a reasonable impact against the elite while also finding the scoresheet in a 2-1 win over ex-club Chelsea in February.
