Wolves keen on signing Euro 2016 winner

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly launched a late attempt to sign Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio ahead of Serie A side Napoli.

  • Chelsea manager on Reece James before Man Utd game
  • Chelsea want to sign Bournemouth midfielder
  • The Portugal international, who was part of the Euro 2016 winning side, is understood to have verbally agreed to a switch to the Naples outfit.

However, according to Diario de Noticias, Napoli have yet to formally finalise the shot-stopper's switch with manager Carlo Ancelotti not entirely convinced over the move.

The Italian is said to be leaning towards a deal for Paris Saint-Germain's Alphonse Areola instead and this has supposedly brought Wolves back into the fray.

As per the publication, the Wolves have revived their own interest in the goalkeeper and they are prepared to pay a club-record £27.3m fee in order to lure him to the Molineux Stadium.

Stoke City's Jack Butland has also been linked with a move to the west Midlands outfit, though the Englishman is likely to fancy a move to a Champions League-based club this summer.
