Juventus close to signing Manchester United defender

01 June 2018 - 11:32

Juventus have reportedly close to finalising a move for Manchester United outcast Matteo Darmian. The Italian has sparingly been used by United over the past year and he now appears to be headed for a return to Turin.

  • Chelsea urged to sign Man City star on free transfer
  • Chelsea squad want Xabi Alonso as manager
  • According to Sport Italia, the versatile full-back is on the cusp of sealing a &pound12m switch to the Bianconeri with a medical scheduled to be completed this week.

Darmian has spent the past three seasons at Old Trafford but during this period, he has struggled to earn a regular starting role with the Mancunian giants.

The Italian was initially tipped to leave United during the winter transfer window but Jose Mourinho's reluctance to sell presumably extended his stay until the summer.

Juventus are expected to lose both Stephan Lichsteiner and Kwadwo Asamoah when their contracts expire this month and Darmian could be competing for both full-back positions in the upcoming campaign.
